Texas DPS has now released video of a successful airborne rescue that happened in Palo Duro Canyon State Park on Wednesday.

Authorities said they discovered the need for a helicopter after the hiker was located farther into the canyon than initially reported.

The Randall County Fire Department released information on a Wednesday afternoon air rescue that was conducted to evacuate a hiker from Palo Duro Canyon State Park, near the Lighthouse formation.

Officials from Palo Duro Canyon State Park announced on Wednesday morning that due to a water leak, the canyon portion of the park is under a boil water notice.
