The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M will begin their 2025 season ranked eighth in the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division II Preseason Top-25 Poll announced on Friday afternoon.

West Texas A&M started their season off with a win on Friday morning as they scored just 15 teams points at the Aggie Duels hosted by Cameron University.

West Texas A&M battled back to tie the game before the Orediggers of Colorado School of Mines took the lead for good with a fourth quarter safety to pull out a 33-31 victory over the Buffs at Bain-Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium in Canyon.

A fourth-quarter safety made the difference as Colorado School of Mines came away from West Texas A&M with a hard-nosed 33-31 win in Week 1.
