Canyon ISD coach Leslie Broadhurst honored with gymnasium naming at Randall High

CANYON, Texas (KVII) — Longtime Canyon Independent School District coach and educator, Leslie Broadhurst received a special honor on Monday from the district.

A member of the original staff when the school opened in 1988, today the main gymnasium at Randall High School was named for the only boys basketball coach the school has had.

If you count, that’s 36 years, and even after suffering a major medical issue midway through this past season, he has fully recovered and even spent time on the bench when the team reached the state tournament for a second straight year.

He is the lone member of the original staff still at the school.
