Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

No. 16 Lady Buffs, Pioneers End Scoreless

DENTON, Texas – The West Texas A&M women's soccer team ended scoreless with the Texas Woman's Pioneers on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Buffs, 9-1-2 overall, are now 3-1-2 in the Lone Star Conference while Texas Woman's record moved to 1-7-4 overall and 1-3-3 in the LSC.

WT came out swinging and pushing the pace in the attacking third of the field. Just 3 minutes into the game, Maria-Frances Serrant forced Morgan Sherman to register her first save of the afternoon. The Lady Buffs continued to pressure Sherman as Nicole Gray, Brooke Roskelley, and Emily Avila all registered shots on goal within the first 20 minutes of the game. After the first half of play, WT out-shot Texas Woman's 9-1 in the half and 5-1 in shots on goal.

The second half proved to be more of the same intensity from the Lady Buffs as Asha James sent a shot wide of the frame in the 47th minute. Bailey Murray followed up James' shot with a shot on goal, but Morgan remained solid in net for the Pioneers. Although WT placed three of its 14 shots in the second half on target, the Lady Buffs couldn't find the go-ahead goal.

Reagan Heelan posted her sixth shutout of the season, making two saves in the draw while Serrant registered a team-high seven shots on the day.

WT finishes its road trip with a matchup against St. Edward's on Wednesday. The Lady Buffs and Hilltoppers are scheduled to start at 4 p.m. in Austin.
